Outcry (Sublustrum) Walkthrough part 1

Outcry is the first offering from a group of artists in St. Petersburg Russia. Released as Sublustrum in Russia, it won several Russian awards. The player assumes the role of a middle-aged writer who receives a strange, confused letter from his brother, a scientist whom he hasn’t seen for years. Upon arrival at your brother’s home, you will discover that in the past few weeks he missed all his lectures at the local university and began a reclusive life in his apartment, where he was working on a mysterious machine, and then suddenly disappeared altogether. From scattered diary pages and incoherent notes, you will learn that your brother was convinced that human consciousness could be separated from the body and that he was trying to test this “paramount discovery” on himself. Something must have gone wrong, and it’s up to you now to find out his ultimate fate.

  • adventures are useally not my go to games. ive played some on the amiga back in the early 90s but thats mostly because they were kind of the standard thing on that machine. its not that i disliked them, they were just third in line so to speak. after the last one i played was broken sword on psx. in may of 2009 my wife was on rehab 400 miles away after a surgery and i looked for something to play to bring my mind off that topic and be distracted, since i couldnt visit her for 3 weeks. and i found this games it was a real strange experience to play this game. very good atmosphere and surreal setting, i liked it even not sure what the ending wanted to tell me. after that, i played mata hari, which had kind of an aprupt ending

  • Lol, i played this game, and i could never figure out how a steamflower mechanism works xD

And…i was kinda screaming soooo loud when i've seen the end. I have a thing – putting myself in a story. Seeing this EPIC end…it turned my inner world apart.

  • Sublustrum is much better in Russian. Translation and adaption ruin everything, as always. Not so horrible as Pathologic, lol, but still. It's actually one of my favorite games, so it's sad to see some English-speaking guys are not so much into it as they're supposed to, because it's truly brilliant.
